Dr. Carrie Snaychuk DC, BHKin., obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree with honours at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Prior to that, she graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics, majoring in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Her clinical practice is situated in Smithers, BC, where she is proud to service the beautiful Bulkley Valley. Apart from that, she also works with BC Wildfire Service first responders and staff to help keep them at their peak performance during the fire seasons.

Carrie grew up in Kelowna, BC as a multi-sport athlete, and spending summers camping with her family. Her love for basketball and the outdoors led her to eventually play basketball collegiately, and then to pursue a job with the BC Wildfire Service. Her experiences playing varsity sports and working on a crew with BC Wildfire demonstrated the profound impact that consistent hard work, perseverance, and teamwork can have on accomplishing feats even beyond what we think are possible. Time and again Carrie witnessed what she thought was her limit, and how she could push beyond that, with the motivation and support from her teammates and co-workers.
As she transitioned into her role as a Chiropractor, she integrated the ethos cultivated during those experiences into her client care. Rather than putting limitations on clients in pain, or aiming for ‘quick-fixes’, which fall short for many reasons, she partners with her clients as a dedicated coach and teammate. She aims to remove barriers and to show people what they are capable of. This might look like coaching a grandmother on how to deadlift so she can pick up her grandkids, or it might look like helping someone with persistent pain recover by helping to reframe their beliefs about pain and damage. Either way, she works hard to stay up to date on the latest research and continuing education courses to offer her clients high-value person-centred care.

Apart from clinical practice, you can find Carrie outside exploring the local hiking and mountain biking trails. She enjoys trail running and strength training, both of which allow her to continue the athletic lifestyle she loves, playing a multitude of sports including basketball, squash, tennis, snowboarding and cross-country skiing. Coffee, homemade sourdough bread, and movement are daily staples in her world.
